I am a elementary education major. I have never heard of Access before now. I read the powerpoint presentation that they had on the ACCESS program. I am very excited about all the things and opportunities that the Access program offers. The computer equipment that will make this program happen is very costly, but very beneficial for the students of the future.
The program gives students a chance to learn advance studies and compete against other students. It is a great way to encourage and motivate the students to try something new when you are learning. The access program gives you a bunch of unlimited online courses, that takes the student out of the regular classroom enviroment.

In researching the use of blogging in schools around the United States, there were alot of sites about blogs. Schools are trying to make this the norm with our school age kids. We live in such a computer world that the idea of communicating with the world with blogs is an exciting thing for children and young adults.
At the school St.Joseph in Quebec City, they have introduced blogs. The children of all ages past the 3rd or 4th grade love it. They use the blogging to hear about anouncements, learn about different educational issues. The thing that the students from this school like the most is being able to express their views and ideas with other students and people. The schools in Western New York are still trying to get the concept of blogging in a educational way. The blogs in school incourage students to write, think, and view other classmates work on subjects and issues.

ALEX
ALEX is a website for teachers to help with ideas and techniques with teaching students. ALEX also has different catagories for a teacher to go under for help in any area he or she needs ideas or help in. Some of the areas they can go under are web links, lesson plans, search, personal workspace, professional learning, and distance learning.
In the ALEX website you can go under professional learning to help one teach a lesson in class, you can also use ALEX to look up subjects and studies. The ALEX website can give a teacher work space to work on activities for your class. The website also can help you with weblinks to look up work and information.
